Kicking off the season with “Splash Into Summer”
Summer arrived with a splash this June as Family Relief Nursery welcomed nearly 200 community members to our annual Splash Into Summer event. Local organizations, vendors, and families gathered for an afternoon of sunshine, games, and connection. Visiting children loved the play structures, scavenger hunt, painting, water challenges and (of course) the cotton candy.
Beyond the water balloons and laughter lies something deeper that speaks directly to the heart of our mission. "Our Outreach events always promise the making of cherished memories,” said Outreach Director Ana Saenz, “But there is something even more special that blooms for our community during these annual events—it's connection." The interactive nature of our events helps families learn more about opportunities and support structures they can count on. "The connections that are forged between children, families, local resources and all shared over good food is irreplaceable," Ana explained.
That connection is exactly why events like this matter so much to our work in early intervention childcare. Families who might otherwise feel isolated or unsure where to turn leave with real, practical resources in hand. As Ana puts it, "We hope that the families who visit us will not only leave with their hands full of goodies but also full of knowledge. Whether that's learning the routes of our local LTD buses or knowing who to contact for mental health support—Family Relief Nursery strives to provide an unforgettable experience for the whole family."
Because early intervention isn't just about the therapeutic classrooms we provide. It’s about surrounding families with a community that shows up for them, again and again.
